Teens: are you tired of just writing book reviews for Summer Reading?

How about a book trailer instead?

Tape a short clip, upload it to YouTube or a similar website, share the link with us and be entered into the contest to win a NOOK color.

You can be as creative as you want - just don't give away the ending!

Here are the details:

Sign up for Summer Reading by creating your account here

Don't have a digital camera? Need help uploading the clip? Come to the taping session at the Cambrian Branch on July 19th from 3pm to 5pm.

Of course this will also count towards your Summer Reading goal and will enter you in the bi-weekly drawings.

Book Trailer

For the book trailer, can we make a video on the computer? Do we need to cite the pictures if they're copyrighted?

Video on Computer

Sure, you can make a video on your computer, as long as you upload it afterwards. Citing copyrighted pictures is something you should defintely do. Better yet, try to find some that are not copyrighted.

When I pasted the link, I

When I pasted the link, I also added additional information along with it; will Sjpl make efforts to find the links if they're not the only thing entered? (e.g. will you guys ctrl+F for the word "youtube" or something to find the videos?) Thanks.

We will definitely read what you enter

and look links up if it is necessary. Thanks for putting so much effort into this :)

Since the winner's announced

Since the winner's announced in August, is this contest running up until the very last day (July 30th)? Will it end at a certain time on July 30th? Thank you!

You can enter the contest until

midnight on July 30th :)

Video length

Is it ok if we cut up the video into parts to make uploading easier, as long as we provide all the links?

As long as you provide all the links

you can cut it in parts. Please make sure to add 'part 1' 'part 2' etc. to your videos.

i also have question on video

i also have question on video length. there's no official time limit, right? (since it's not listed here on this page as rules)

There is no official time limit

but I think you might be limited by the size of your file on YouTube
