You may be pleased to know that every recommendation through NoveList involves a human touch, not just an automated algorithm!
NoveList appeals to all audiences and reading interests with two different databases, NoveList Plus K-8, which provides grade appropriate material for elementary and middle school students, and NoveList Plus, which includes adult and young adult titles.
Features of NoveList Plus and NoveList Plus K-8
- Story elements: Get a customized list of recommendations to suit your current reading mood by picking from a selection of tags related to tone, writing style, plot, and more.
- Read-alikes: Search for books that are similar to others you've already read; each recommended title comes with an explanation of why it was selected.
- Book lists: Browse by genre, topic, or theme using book lists created by NoveList's team of librarians.
- Series information: Find out how many books are in a series and what order to read them in.
- Book reviews: Explore professional book reviews from reliable sources such as Kirkus, Library Journal, and Publishers Weekly.
- Reading level: Use Advanced Search to find books in a specific range of Accelerated Reader or Lexile levels.
Where to Find It
To access NoveList, visit the SJPL website. Select Books & eResources in the menu bar, then eResources, A-Z. From there, scroll down to NoveList Plus.
