David Kessler, a renowned grief counselor, recently wrote Visions, Trips, and Crowded Rooms. He takes the reader through three possible stages of a person's last days. The first is "vision" is deceased relatives appear, or a corner of the room begins to glow. The second stage is getting ready for a "trip". People talk to caregivers about packing their bags or wondering where the tickets are. The "crowded rooms" stage is when the dying begin to see more relatives and people they don't remember in the room with them. Case histories are described from the experiences of different types of health care professionals. The book contains a message of hope, that we do not die alone.
