In 1940, the Germans have invaded Norway and Max is outraged. As far as he is concerned, the Nazis have stolen his country and he intends to steal it back, or at least make their stay as uncomfortable as possible. Based on a true story, Max Manus has a 79 percent rating at Rotten Tomatoes.

Slipping away from his own farewell party, he decides to take a walk across Oslo where a series of unusual experiences await him. An offbeat and slightly surreal comedy from Norway, O'Horten has a 78 percent rating at Metacritic.



Kitchen Stories


Sometime in the 1950s, Folke, a Swedish efficiency expert, is assigned to the home of Isak, a Norwegian bachelor farmer, by a company hoping to make kitchen design more ergonomic. Though Folke is supposed to only observe and not interact, the two men find themselves forming an unusual friendship. A droll, thoughtful comedy from Scandinavia, Kitchen Stories has a 75 percent rating at Metacritic.
