The San Jose Public Library's Summer Reading Celebration kicks off today and children and teens can sign up for their respective programs at any branch. But summer reading is not just a kids' activity! Adults can sign up too. If you have children perhaps you'd like to sign up for summer reading along with them and make the experience a family affair, but no kids are required for adult summer reading fun!
Partipants in the adult summer reading program can entered biweekly drawings for the following prizes:
If you register at your local branch, staff will give you an activity card, or if you sign up online you can print your own activity card. Complete five activities in a row (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) and return it to the library in time to be entered into each biweekly drawing. Most importantly, have a great time reading!

Those who provide a video review will be automatically entered into the Book Trailer Contest. Our judges will select the best video review and the winner will receive a iPad Mini!

Teens: want to do something more imaginative than just writing a review for Summer Reading books that you have read? Create and submit a book trailer review for Summer Reading, and you could win a Kindle Fire! Upload a short clip, no longer than 4 minutes, to YouTube, providing your review of the book. Be creative! The contest is open to all participants in the Teen Summer Reading Celebration.
How to enter:
Entries will be judged on creativity and content by a panel of library staff.
