Adult Literacy and ESL

With almost 30% of all SJPL adult programming identifying as Literacy or English as a Second Language (ESL) focused, it's clear that the community has both a need and desire for Adult Literacy and ESL programming.

  • Literacy programs are a key component of library offerings, including ESL programs, conversation clubs, book clubs, and other reading and writing-focused activities.
  • In FY 24/25, Adult Literacy and ESL will refocus on supporting the Children and Youth Services Master Plan in the Poco Way/Mayfair and the Santee/Seven Trees demonstration areas.
