Spotlight on Mt. Pleasant

One shining example of the community spirit that National Night Out fosters is the event in Mount Pleasant. For over 12 years, the Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Association (MPNA) has organized this gathering, with the Mt. Pleasant Neighborhood Library joining in for the past 5 years. This lively event features live music, delicious food trucks, engaging games, and more.

MPNA president Melissa Lopez beautifully captures the essence of the evening:

"[Last year's event] was a successful night to gather as a community, eat tasty food, dance to live music, make crafts, play games, meet our local police, and learn about some valuable community resources. We had so many wonderful organizations participate and so many great volunteers help to make the event a success. We cannot wait until next year!"

This is just one example of the many vibrant National Night Out celebrations happening throughout San Jose. Each event is unique, reflecting the character and energy of its neighborhood, and our library staff are excited to be a part of this special night, bringing fun and resources to our communities.
