New Native Fiction Reads for 2024

November is Native American Heritage Month

Here at San Jose Public Library, we have a vast selection of works written by Native/First Nations authors. In recent years, Native writers have gone beyond fictional stories centered around Native identity alone....branching out into Fantasy, Science Fiction, Mystery, and Horror genres. With over 700 tribal nations in the United States, Native identities and perspectives are vast and varied. There is no "one voice" or "one experience" that determines legitimacy. There are so many stories and so much complexity within Native communities. And the writings of these fiction authors reflect the vast complexity of their experiences. Delve into some new Native Reads for 2024.
