Read Across America is an annual event observed during the first week of March. The program, started by the National Education Association in 1997, hopes to increase literacy and create a passion for reading in children nationwide.
To commemorate this event, the San José Public Library will host virtual and in-person activities throughout the city for the entire week.
Join us as librarians share this year's title, A Crown for Corina, during branch storytimes, followed by an art activity to inspire and connect young children to the book's title character.
City leaders will share their favorite children's books through virtual storytimes on our Early Education Services Facebook page on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
