When the Circus Comes to Town
San José Public Library has once again partnered with Cirque du Soleil! You may remember last year when one of our staff members was also lucky enough to experience the wonder that is Cirque du Soleil. This year, I was lucky enough to experience ECHO where poetry, breathtaking acrobatics, immersive stagecraft, and cutting-edge technology converge to explore the delicate balance between humans, animals, and the planet we share. This was my first time ever seeing Cirque du Soleil and it lived up to all the hype that everyone said it would. The aerial stunts, music and overall performance was truly shocking.

My colleague and I spoke to three cast members on their favorite reads:
Nicole:
Nicole plays the violin in the orchestra during the show and recommends My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante.
Jonathan:
Jonathan is the singing moose in the performance and recommends Cultish by Amanda Montell.
Neal:
Neal is an aerialist in the show and recommends Room by Emma Donoghue.
