Research the Castellano Collection Online
As summer winds down, the heat of interest lingers on the Castellano Collection. The collection is a familiar find to those who use SJPL Digital Collections, SJSU Special Collections and Archives, and the SJSU AAACNA.
Now there is one site for all things Castellano, a portal to each institution's piece of the collection. This website contains direct links to each part of the Castellano Collection without the need for navigating each institution's digital collection sites.
The San Jose Public Library California Room is home to the Alcario and Carmen Castellano Family Collection photographic collection. In our digital collection you will find over 3,000 photographs taken by Alcario Castellano with subject ranging from the Chicano Movement, GI Forum, Car shows, Veterans, as well as Local Art and Dancing.
San Jose State University will be hosting an event with the Castellano Family on September 10th at 4:30pm on the first floor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library. The event will take place at the Digital Humanities Center, Room 113, the site of the former Friends of the Library Bookstore.
