Completing your Branch Community Room reservation request does not guarantee a reservation. All reservations will be reviewed and confirmation emails will be sent stating your request has been approved. The approval process may take up to 72 hours. Your event may be listed in our community events area.

By submitting a reservation request to use a branch community room, you assume responsibility on behalf of yourself and your attendees for the following:

  1. Reimbursing the library for missing equipment and repairs to the rooms and furnishings for damages which occurred during the duration of my event.
  2. Assuring that the event is free and open to everyone.
  3. Abiding by the Branch Community Rooms Policy, opens a new window, Behavior in the Library Policy, opens a new window, and all other library policies, opens a new window.
  4. Agreeing to indemnify, defend and hold harmless San José Public Library and the City of San José, its officers, agents, or employees, from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, judgments, costs and expenses (including attorneys' fees and expenses) arising out of my use of the meeting room, including damage to or harm arising from my use of other areas of the premises in connection with my use of the room.

A 72-hour cancellation notice is required so that others may be able to use the space. Late cancellations and no-shows are subject to the original charged amount.
