Never trust a computer you can't throw out a window. - Steve Wozniak
There are new apps available for some of our popular San José Public Library eResources. These apps will allow patrons to easily access eResources from their mobile devices.
LinkedIn Learning
LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) - One of the many benefits of the recent transition to LinkedIn Learning was the app became available allowing learners to participate in coursework on mobile devices. The app is available either for iOS devices 12.0 or later or Android devices 5.0 or later. Once you download the app, enter the same e-mail address you used when you set up LinkedIn Learning initially. You will then be asked to enter your library ID which is sjpl. After that, you will be asked to sign in with your library card number and PIN. Once you are logged into the app, you will be able to continue coursework, start new classes and view your progress.
EBSCO
EBSCO released an app in December, 2020. The app is compatible with iOS devices 11.0 or later, Android Devices 5.0 or later and Chromebooks that support apps via Google Play. After you have downloaded the app, you can follow EBSCO's FAQ link for set up instructions. EBSCO also provides a Quick Start Guide so you can quickly begin accessing EBSCO articles and eBooks.
ABCmouse
ABCmouse (aka: ABC Mouse) has an app available for iOS 9.0 or later or for Android devices 5.0 or later. Please make sure you have already checked out ABCmouse from the library website for a 4-week period prior to logging into the app. Once you have checked out ABCmouse from the library, open the app on your device, and click on the yellow "Log In" button at the top right corner of the page. To log in, please use the same e-mail address and password you set up when you checked out ABCmouse for home use. Once you are logged in, ABCmouse games and learning programs will be available. Some children may find it easier to use ABCmouse with the app than in the mobile device browser.
A library card gives you 24-7 access to these and the many other amazing eResources available at San José Public Library.
